In The Beginning...

Hello! It's the 21st century, you need to have a website! This is my first blog and I thought I would share my experience with you as I'm getting ready to leave for China.

After I graduated from Concordia University in Portland OR in 1999, someone told me that if I wanted go with them to China, they could find me a job. Since I graduated in December, mid-year for schools here, there weren't many teaching opportunities at that time. I decided to go. 10 days later, I was in Honk Kong.

I taught at a private school there called Bi Gui Yuan (Country Garden) around Guangzhou in the Guandong province of China. I went home that summer because of Y2K. (Remember the hooplah?) Here it is, almost 9 years later. Just now am I finally ready to head back and hop on the bus.

The first time I was there, I taught middle school and high school listening English. So we will see if I'll be teaching the older kids again or younger ones this time. I love the administration at this school. I feel like I will be well taken care of. The Big guy does a good job of that too...in so many unexpected ways...

Until I go, I will be filling you in.

Till then,

Cheers!
